History
The founder of the Guardian is Nader Kameli. Nader is a serial entrepreneur with much experience in medical device world. Here is the history of the company from himself:
A few years ago my wife Afrouz decided to change career and become a full time realtor. After getting her license and joining a brokerage firm, she started to do what realtors do. Although I had purchased and sold my own houses in the past, I had never looked at the process from the perspective of a realtor, especially a woman.
As she found clients and started to go to open houses and house showings, she was fearful of the unknown and asked me to accompany her to some of those meetings. While at the meeting as her body guard, I was thinking that this is a dangerous job and I wonder if there has been any incidents in the past. So, I jumped on the internet and searched. Low and behold I found many incidents of rape, harm and murder that had occurred to realtors.

While at the meeting as her body guard, I was thinking that this is a dangerous job and I wonder if there has been any incidents in the past. So, I jumped on the internet and searched. Low and behold I found many incidents of rape, harm and murder that had occurred to realtors.
Concerned with the situation, I started to look for tools and technologies that might have been developed to address the situation. I found a handful of products that claimed to be helpful. The solution was all cell phone related. They were either a pure app that runs on the cell phone or an app and a wireless bluetooth trigger that activates the app. In all cases the app would call the police and report the GPS location of the person.
Being a technologist and now a concerned spouse, I found those solutions inadequate. If a crime was to occur, in almost all cases police who is remote to the location would not be able to get there in time to prevent or stop the attack. If lucky, they could get there to apprehend the assailant. That was of no value to me as I wanted to save my wife from harm.
As I was sitting in the car and my wife was inside a house showing it to a potential client, I was thinking how would she be able to tell me if she needs help. A bluetooth trigger has a limited range and would not travel through walls. Also, how impossible it would be for agents to always have a bodyguard with them at all times. So, the two items came together and became the genesis of Guardian.
In almost all cases houses are in neighborhoods with people. Many of those people would not hesitate to come to the help of a woman in distress. So, I developed a system that allows the person inside a closed off house to yell and scream such that the sound can be heard outside of the house. Also, it has to be such that the assailant cannot silence the sound or stop the process. In cases where a cell phone is the source of the call, the assailant can simply break the cell phone and terminate the process. In the case of the Guardian VDS, they have no reach to the system as the calling system is mounted inside the car and is protected by the car locks.
I hope this tool help bring safety to all these hard workers, and brings peace of mind to their family knowing that their loves one is not alone and has some level of protection with them.
