Guardian VDS is a personal protection system that is designed to bring all the possible assistance to the help its user.
Product Information
It is not enough to only report a crime in progress to the authorities. Guardian VDS uses all available means to bring immediate help to the scene and deter the assailant from their initial intent to harm.
The system includes a Processing Unit, a loudspeaker, a light bar, an external antenna, and a control software app. The physical components get installed in your car by a professional installer, similar to a remote door lock or remote car starter. The system becomes a permanent part of your car and will be with you everywhere you go.
There is a control app that is used to interact with the in-car Processing Unit. The app is used to record voice messages, that will be used in communication with the people the PU will call. There is a set of phone numbers that the PU will use to call people that you identify as caring people who are ready to come to your assistance when the need arises. There are other communication and contact related information that the app will allow you to customize to your own need.
The Processing Unit has a built in cellular phone and needs a communication SIM to communicate when needed. Guardian provides the SIM as part of its monthly service charge. Using the cellular system your VDS device can communicate using voice and text messaging.

Installation
After purchase of the system the owner needs to take the system and their car to a local installation shop where the components will be permanently mounted inside the car in secure locations.
Mobile App
The Guardian app will have to be installed in the mobile phone of the owner. Once the car is instrumented and the system is turned on, the app will be used to connect and customize the operation of the VDS system.
Cloud Connection
A portion of the set up has to be done when the car and the VDS system are in the vicinity of the private WIFI of the owner. The VDS system can then be connected to the internet and the Guardian cloud using a private network which can then be used for periodic communication for upgrades, and upload of trip information.
Trip Setup
Prior to leaving the house, the owner will inform the VDS system of all the stops that she is planning to make. The system has the capability to store address information for up to 10 stops.
Activation
Once at a location, the owner will pick the address of the specific location, and activate the VDS system. This puts the system in monitor mode, listening to the commands from the owner.
Trigger
The VDS remote control will be the only means of communication needed by the owner. The remote is small enough to be carried around by the owner and it needs to be available at all times. It is best for the remote to be carried around in one hand so that it can be operated in times of need, without drawing attention.
